A World We Dare To Imagine #1
My first step in making this world a better place would be to collaborate with my church, Real Life Church, to create a movement towards ending human trafficking. Real Life has a successful coffeeshop called Undergrounds that gives their sales proceeds towards organizations that are for such a cause. I would want to expand on this business and create a chain of coffeehouses to generate more revenue for the organizations. Through Real Life Church's network with other churches across the world, I would start to build the chain of coffeehouses in their locations.

Real Life is a mega church and has significant power to spread the word about this initiative. In addition, they can provide employment opportunities as well to support the coffee shops. As the businesses become more successful, I would want to provide opportunities for church members to serve and take an active role in fighting and raising awareness about human trafficking. Also, I would create an app where at just a tap away, individuals can order their coffee and breakfast food to be ready for them at the time of the church service they are going to.

I would also fund a restaurant with Real Life where proceeds would go towards fighting human trafficking as well. The restaurant would offer lunch and dinner items. It would be convenient for individuals to stop by and grab a bite to eat before or after the late afternoon or evening services. We could advertise the restaurant in the coffee shops and within the churches. The coffee shops and service could offer coupons for the opening of the restaurants. The coffeehouses could also give occasional discounts throughout the year with every purchase of a coffee and breakfast item to spread the word about the restaurant.

  1. I think this is a great idea that you have with creating a chain of coffee restaurants. I like how you have two differing objectives of raising awareness for human trafficking and providing employment opportunities. The next step I would suggest is figuring out the feature you could include on your ordering app that will enable people to donate money to organizations fighting against human trafficking. This is a very good start!

  2. This is a super cool idea. A chain of coffee shops and restaurants is a great way to create a bunch of new jobs that could be provided to underprivileged/struggling members of the community. I also like your focus on human trafficking. I would suggest offering limited time deals on certain items where proceeds will be donated to a different human trafficking organization. Like pumpkin spice lattes for the National Womens Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation for Women's History Month in March.

  3. I really like your idea of connecting food business and organization to fight against human trafficking. I also think it is great that you not only think about the issue, but also consider customers and people using your service! The next step would be finding organizations, which deal with the issue of human trafficking, you are willing to donate your proceeds.
