I absolutely love running on the open road. I enjoy waking up early to map out a new road for myself. I try to find a trail that is both challenging yet fun. It's like trying a new adventure every day. My run does not always go exactly to my plan for the day because I might decide to try a new path that I discover along the way. My favorite spots to run are at the beach because of the cool weather and ocean breeze. I love taking my dog along for the trip because he keeps me motivated to not stop running.
No matter where I run, I always feel a sense of peace. I think one of the major reasons why I love running is because I find it to be the ultimate stress reliever. Running allows me to put all of my worries aside and focus on the road at hand. From the beat of my IPod's music to the various trees I pass, I take in all of my surroundings as I run. Every time I run, I feel a sense of gratitude and happiness with my life. Running reminds me to slow down and be more in the moment.
Can't beat that runners high in terms of a sense of relief. I definitely prefer running outside instead of on a treadmill too.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had that motivation to run. I feel like I can do it but when it comes time to run, I chicken out and do homework or yard work or something lame. I enjoy the beach very much though. Exercising with your dog is a great idea. I will try and do that this week. That is my goal, to go running with my dog. Thank you for the motivation. lol
ReplyDeleteYour post really make me feel something about running that I have never felt beforeI. also love to running outdoor with my puppy! However, it's never easy to do so when I was in China since roads are always crowded. Basically, to running with my puppy is the most important reason to make me run, otherwise, I would like to do some other exercises, such as go to gym to work on my chest and arms or play badminton with my friends

Even though I am not a big fan of running, I totally agree that it is always nice to find a new path instead of taking a same route!
ReplyDeleteI wished I could run with my dog like you. He is too fast and I cannot catch up with his pace...
Nice post! I was able to relate a lot with you since I also love running outside. Each run is always a new adventure!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you are able to get so much out of running!

ReplyDeleteI used to only weight train and really disliked running as cardio, maybe it was because florida was so humid. But I find I enjoy it way more if I'm running through a scenic route in California. I'll take that over a treadmill any day. Great read!
